Perl Empire Client 2.6
Ken Stevens' release of pei 2.6 (http://www.empire.net/~children/PEA/player/clients/UNIX/) understands the "sanc" command from the experimental server on the Howitzer blitz, and fixes calculations for "pneweff" and "lneweff".

Server

The Empire 3 Server
If you'd like to try running the new server
(http://www.empire.net/~children/PEA/deity/server/), it is available on
PEA. The latest release (3.0.20) reflects the new server release numbering system. Patches to the server can be downloaded from the patch directory (http://www.empire.net/~children/PEA/deity/server/patch/).
The experimental
(http://www.empire.net/~children/PEA/deity/server/experimental/)
server is also available. It contains a few changes and is now at
release 3.1.19. Ken Stevens new firing routines are included, as well
as Kevin Morgan's updates to accomodate the Empire Toolkit. Markus
Armbruster made some portability changes for Ultrix.

For an up to date list of the changes in the new server, connect to
the Howitzer Blitz
(http://www.empire.net/~children/pea_pages/blitzes.html) and type
"info Empire3".

Empire Server Discussion Mailing List
(http://www.empire.net/~children/empire-list/)
The mailing list, a forum of discussion regarding changes to the server,
has been established. If you have time to help with the server project, or
would like to participate in the on-going plans, send mail to empire-server-request@empire.net with "subscribe" in the message body. There is an approval process, so any useful information about your interest in the discussion helps.

Empire Server Announcement List
To receive notification of new server changes and periodic postings of
change proposals, send mail to majordomo@empire.net with the line:
"subscribe empire-announce" in the body of the message.

Empire Discussion List
A more general mailing list is available to all coders, good players, and
especially deities. Subscribe to this list to keep abreast of all coding
changes by sending mail to empire-list-request@empire.net with "subscribe" in the message body.
