The second in the series of Havok games will begin soon. This one will be similar to the last with one major feature. You get to design your own 44 sector start island using the following sectors types: 2 caps (0,0 and 2,0), 24 -, 12 ~ and 6 ^. Here's how it works, you send me a script with a list of deity commands like
des 4,0 ^
des 6,0 -
des 8,0 ~
and I will apply them to your start island that was generated by fairland with 2 sectors initially.
These totals are subject to change before the final game, but in the meantime we'll go with them in a couple of blitz mode games to get things sorted out. Your map must include caps at 0,0 and 0,2, but doesn't have to be centered there. Send your designations to b_marchese@yahoo.com along with preferred country/rep. Scripts received before 10 PM (GMT +5 or there about) will be applied to the next days blitz game. Your can also just log on using country/rep of 1/1, 2/2 etc to see how the game plays with the a round 40 sector island without plains.
Most of the setting will be like Havok I, but the ships will be 80% cheaper. I'm still trying to sort out the best world size, island and continent counts. Resources will be flat like before too. More details (like sample scripts) to follow. Check my web page:

Empire 4.2.12 (KSU distribution 1.04, Chainsaw version 4.00, Wolfpack version 2.12) The following parameters have been set for this game: World size is 180 by 90. There can be up to 99 countries. By default, countries use their own coordinate system. An Empire time unit is 1800 seconds long. Use the 'update' command to find out the time of the next update. The current time is Tue Jan 6 08:43:11. An update consists of 60 empire time units. Each country is allowed to be logged in 1440 minutes a day. It takes 8.33 civilians to produce a BTU in one time unit. A non-aggi, 100 fertility sector can grow 0.12 food per etu. 1000 civilians will harvest 1.3 food per etu. 1000 civilians will give birth to 4.0 babies per etu. 1000 uncompensated workers will give birth to 2.0 babies. In one time unit, 1000 people eat 0.5 units of food. 1000 babies eat 6.0 units of food becoming adults. Banks pay $260.00 in interest per 1000 gold bars per etu. 1000 civilians generate $8.13, uncompensated workers $1.80 each time unit. 1000 active military cost $80.33, reserves cost $4.02. Happiness p.e. requires 1 happy stroller per 10000 civ. Education p.e. requires 1 class of graduates per 10000 civ. Happiness is averaged over 48 time units. Education is averaged over 192 time units. The technology/research boost you get from the world is 50.00%. Nation levels (tech etc.) decline 1% every 96 time units. Tech Buildup is limited to logarithmic growth (base 2.72) after 1.00. Sectors Ships Planes Units Maximum mobility 127 127 127 127 Max mob gain per update 60 90 60 60 Max eff gain per update -- 100 100 100 Ships on autonavigation may use 6 cargo holds per ship. Trade-ships that go at least 4 sectors get a return of 4.5% per sector. Trade-ships that go at least 8 sectors get a return of 5.5% per sector. Trade-ships that go at least 14 sectors get a return of 8.0% per sector. Cashing in trade-ships with an ally nets you a 30.0% bonus. Cashing in trade-ships with an ally nets your ally a 20.0% bonus. The tax you pay on selling things on the trading block is 10.0% The tax you pay on buying commodities on the market is 10.0% Fire ranges are scaled by 1.00 Options enabled in this game: ALL_BLEED, BRIDGETOWERS, DEMANDUPDATE, EASY_BRIDGES, FALLOUT, GODNEWS, GO_RENEW, INTERDICT_ATT, LANDSPIES, LOANS, MARKET, NEUTRON, NEW_STARVE, NEW_WORK, NEWPOWER, NOMOBCOST, NUKEFAILDETONATE, ORBIT, PINPOINTMISSILE, PLANENAMES, SAIL, SHIPNAMES, SHOWPLANE, TECH_POP, TRADESHIPS, TREATIES, UPDATESCHED Options disabled in this game: BIG_CITY, BLITZ, DEFENSE_INFRA, DRNUKE, FUEL, GRAB_THINGS, HIDDEN, LOSE_CONTACT, MOB_ACCESS, NO_FORT_FIRE, NO_HCMS, NO_LCMS, NO_OIL, NO_PLAGUE, NOFOOD, NONUKES, RES_POP, SHIP_DECAY, SLOW_WAR, SNEAK_ATTACK, SUPER_BARS, "info Options" for a detailed list of options and descriptions The person to annoy if something goes wrong is: Bob Marchese (b_marchese@yahoo.com). Havok II is now under way! As you may know, the theme for this game was to allow players to design their own start islands. They were given 2 caps and asked to place 24 wildernesses (-), 12 plains (~) and 6 mountains (6) around them, not necessarily contiguous and not necessarily centered on the initial capitals, but enclosed in a -12:12,-6:6 realm. Once the game is completed I will share some of the interesting start islands folks came up with.
The game got off to a bit of a rocky start. I had setup the game in blitz mode initially to let potential players try things out, but these games had food disabled. However, I posted the version report from these games on the web page and did not note the differences planned for the real game. For the record, the web page now shows the current Version info. Most notably, food was disabled in the blitzes but enabled in the real game. The only warning besides the final version report was a line in the motd "feed your peeps!" In spite of this most players got the message, and the one that didn't agreed to play on with the starvation. (Lesson learned #1: communication is key, everything a deity says must be accurate)
I had planned a server outage for 12/24 through 12/26 so people would not have to worry about the first (or second) updates over the holidays. But I enabled the game a few hours early to let the last player break and setup his country even though game was still technically down. After doing this I send out an email to all the players warning them that the game was back up and the demand updates could occur. But I didn't think updates would happen until after 1:00 AM Saturday when I planned to enable them. Apparently, I was mistaken since a demand update happened at about 10:48 PM Friday. About 2 dozen sectors showed starvation after the initial demand update. I went to bed hoping that everyone would get the message and log in before the next update scheduled for 7:00 PM Saturday. (Lesson learned #2: Do not enable demand updates until after the first scheduled updates happens)
To make a long story short, not everyone got the message in time to be ready for the 2nd update. Since the first one had happened while the game was technically supposed to be down and because of a few miscommunications on my part, I decided to intervene and help the two countries that were hurt by the extra update. I tried to do the minimum possible, putting the starving civs back to work and exchanging some iron for lcms (so they could make edu at update #3). The theory being that if they had fishing boats, they could do the first thing on their own, and both countries' delivery, distribution and designations showed they would have made some lcms had they been on for update #2. I'm sure an "Inquest of the Deities" will be called, but I stand behind my decisions, and plan to let the mapmaker take the heat. (Lesson learned #1: communication is key, everything a deity says must be accurate. Hopefully I've got it now.)
We had our third and fourth updates on schedule Sunday afternoon and Monday morning at 7:00 AM local time. As far as I can tell they went smoothly. There were a few outages as Nick worked on his home network and enabled NTP. This should get rid of that pesky 10 min server time offset.
The leaders are making tech and several have started building navies. A few have even found new land. Here is how the power chart looks so far:

The next 6 updates will occure every 18 hours, unless we get any more demand updates. I expect things will be moving pretty fast. It won't be long before players start making contact with each other, then things get even more interesting. The funniest anno award (bragging rights only) goes to unemployed and is attached below.

The countries of Havok II just had their 11th update. I'm happy to report that all now seem to be under active management. A replacement player that was willing to take over one country that had been left to grow food and not much else. He did get a fairly large treasury, so has been using the market to find much needed commodities. Most nations are at the bottom of their revenue curves now and some have been quick to capitalize on this. The leader board remains the much same with only Ringworld and Dotdotdot swapping positions. One funny situation from the last update concerned guns and ammo. One nation had shells but no guns, another had guns but no shells. Most seem to have fixed this now.

Exploration continues as the navies grow in size and technology. About 4/5 of the offshore islands sectors now claimed and the rest are going fast. Just a few countries have made contact, but the world is fairly large (180 by 90) so that is to be expected. So far hostilities have been limited to border skirmishes and a bit of piracy.
Tech production is in full swing with most nations gaining about 5 points per update. Several nations are currently vying for the tech leader position. The first units have been produced and now even and aircraft or two. One of the non-standard units in this game is the ob1 or observation balloon. I had wanted to let if carry one iron so it could drop anvils (well, maybe flechettes would have been more realistic - http://www.adrax.com/watsons/fcollect.htm), but that would have taken more server code changes. So it has an attack rating of 0. More on Havok II units can be found at http://users.erols.com/bmarches/h2units300.txt
There haven't been too many funny annos this week. Most have been boring stuff like what the new update schedule would be (its now every 30 hours) and so on. Since Eden at least tried (and because I liked "Being There"), he takes this weeks title for Funniest Anno. Maybe I should start offering Gold Bars...
Three weeks after start, January 14, 2004
The games has slowed down a bit since we went to the 30 hour update schedule but things should be heating up again shortly. The world in now out fee land as all the islands have been claimed. In fact, a few have started changing hands, some more than once. One goal of the game was to make it so relative newcomers might be able to survive long enough to achieve some interesting tech levels. As the 17th update approaches one of the players have been eliminated, although a few of the less active ones have been pushed back to their home islands.
Tech production still hovers around 5.5 per update but tech bleed has fallen off a bit as some fo the players turn their cash to other things. Aircraft are now being build in earnest and along with ever faster ships. These will be shrinking the distances between the islands quickly now.

This week's winner of 10 gold bars in the anno contest is Shakespeare. He provided good advice on a wide range of topics as only he can. The bar has been raised for him in more than one way though. If he want's to win again he will have to write me a sonnet. Honorable mention (and 5 bars) also goes to dotdotdot for his ship names. I found "DFS Wanderer" particularly enlightening as I now know what a Depth First Search is thanks to him.
Four weeks after start, January 21, 2004
This was a busy week for the Havok players. At the time of my last report, no one had been eliminated. At this point, 4 players have been pushed out, each being broke or without sectors.First to go was Eden. While putting up a vigorous defense of his last island he had committed all his units to that fight. Meanwhile Shakespeare gave him the "back door" treatment, first shelling his bank then bringing in a landing force. Shortly after this Dr Jellyfinger launched a second wave from his new base of operations. It was all over shortly after that.
The next was Puddles who fell in a well crafted single handed attack by Rinworld. His defenses were overwhelmed by several high tech ships and units. Puddles actually fell off the power chart but is now back (for a little while anyway) thanks to Che.
The sleepy nation of Aiser fell to sudden aggression by Dotdotdot. This was possibly to secure his distant ports.
While all this was going on, Thistle was shelling and bombing key targets on Phantom. A few updates later the attacks began in earnest when unemployed landed an invasion force. Phantom had few units to fend him off the two aggressors, but had managed to claim a few sectors by launching daring raids from his mountain strongholds.
With several easy kills out of the way, several of the countries have swelled and 5 are currently in the "Century Club". Tech continues at a brisk pace, with bleed now at an all time high.

This weeks funny updates was a bit of a problem. I hadn't figured out a way to deal with ties, but this case it really didn't seem fair to award bars to Puddles without giving a share to his straight man Ringworld. In the end, Ringworld wins out for mentioning Haggis so close to Burns Night but he splits the pot with that "wee timorous beastie" Puddles. Although Ringy will probably have those soon too.
Six weeks after start, February 4, 2004
Between the change to 42 hour updates and the seven remaining players mostly consolidating their positions, it had been a slow couple of weeks. Most of the hostility was limited to the little war that has been going on between Thistle and unemployed for some. Frank was relieved of many of his colonial sectors by Dr. Jellyfingers. Some of the players were starting to wonder if this thing would ever end. Things heated up shortly after update #32 when Dr. Jellyfinger and Shakespeare launched a combined attack on Ringworld, seizing a total of 29 of his sectors and destroying many of his planes and units.
With the attack on Ringworld, DrJellyfingers regains the lead he had held for over 20 updates. But it remains close, very close.

At these rates I expect to see JF1 soon and nukes before too long.
Not too many annos, so no bars will be given. The ever helpful Visitor had these economic observations though. Actually, I have to take some blame for this imbalance. I had scaled the Trade ship pay outs for a smaller world size, but then made things quite a bit larger to accommodate all the players.
After 39 updates, its finally over. Dr. Jellyfinger and Shakespeare made a victory anno but it was contested by Frank (not to mention Puddles, and I won't since he's been absent from the power chart for weeks now). Frank was obviously dug in *DEEP*. Reports from the field indicate he had two and three fully fortified units per sector. Even after being stripped of air cover, this was enough to hold them through Friday's update, only losing two coastal plains sectors to the aggressors. But Shakespeare moved in after the Sunday's update seizing half his island. Dr. J had announced his order of battle, true to form moved in with Naval bombardments to neutralize two large fleets of battleships and destroyers in Frank's inland lakes. The amphibious assaults followed using some 40 marine units. When the dust had cleared, Frank had zero sectors. They renewed the declaration and it held uncontested through this morning's update. It can now be revealed (with said player's permission) that Dr. Jellyfinger is none other that Bungholio.
Tech Notes:
All through the game it was a three way race for tech between Dr. J, Ringworld and unemployed. Dr J's suspicion of a nuclear strike was confirmed when
he took Ringworld's tech center and found a massive tech building program underway. Unemployed went broke trying to keep up, and was eliminated by
longtime rival Thistle. Interestingly, only one player made it to the nuclear age with Thistle just missing the 180 threshold.
I now hope to compile some graphs showing the power chart score, money, tech and bar counts over the course of the game. I'm sorry to say I didn't find the script for capturing a movie until the game was well underway. Maybe next time. Thanks again to all that played, and if you haven't done so already, please send me your thoughts on your start island design so I may include them in the final wrap up.
Thanks to all that played!

The new fruit, described as very sweet and juicy, has been named the "Fruit of Knowledge." It is grown on a hybrid tree, termed by its creaters the "Tree of Knowledge." The Garden of Eden plans to market this new variety of fruit to all nations interested in peaceful trade with it. The Chief Gardener asks for all applications for such trade to be submitted to the Gardener's Hut in Eden. Also, the Chief Genomic Botanist in Eden is now actively looking for fig leaves. It appears in terms of sub movements that MUST have happened but were not seen and sub movements that were seen (mission flew) but only observed some sub. versus observed, flew and attempted bombing. Based on those facts the probabilites I got were: ASW plane actually observing a sub movement ?55% once have observed the sub: flying out and successfully bombing (although it kept report ~28-32% hitchance) I got only 20% this go round. On recon/bombing observing the subs seems to be 100% but finding a target to bomb 33% and lastly once observed/targeting success was 100% not bad on that one! So if one compares recon with auto defenses If a sub navs 4 times: one would expect 4 flights, and only a 50% final chance of hitting the sucker. However, on recon, 4 flights yielded: 100% kill. Ringy's losses include several destroyers, 2 bridgpans, 1 sunk loaded carrier, 1 damaged carrier, 1 crippled BBC, a crippled airfield, and some random collateral damage in various sectors. Wake up!!! > Announcement from DrJellyfinger, (#3) dated Fri Jan 30 16:27:59 2004 looks like the game is back up. did anyone else have trouble connecting the past 4 hours or so? > Announcement from Ringworld, (#8) dated Fri Jan 30 22:13:04 2004 fuck, I missed an update. damn dumd. > Announcement from Ringworld, (#8) dated Fri Jan 30 22:14:39 2004 well duh! who didn't. I was lucky I took care of some stuff. just hoped it fucked up you guys as much as it did my plans but everyone knows *I* whine so ignore me! > Announcement from Ringworld, (#8) dated Sat Jan 31 13:01:38 2004 does anyone have any experience with why some fb won't take an auto feed command. I have a stupid boat that no matter how many times you issue the command when you check on it it says loading no eta AND it has NO ending cargo limit. and it WON"T take it. sucks. > Announcement from DrJellyfinger, (#3) dated Sat Jan 31 13:02:43 2004 maybe the path has mines in it? > Announcement from Ringworld, (#8) dated Sat Jan 31 13:13:50 2004 no that would just report a long route. this fucker 50 % of the time wont accept an ending amount and when it does then it is always loading. everyother ship works fine. and it has been happening from BEFORE any type of warfare as well. > Announcement from DrJellyfinger, (#3) dated Sat Jan 31 19:01:04 2004 I wonder if possibly that the fb is located right on the edge of the deity map, and the orders command is getting confused on how to get from 89,1 to -89,1 or something to that effect? > Announcement from Ringworld, (#8) dated Sun Feb 1 00:10:00 2004 now DrJ is using his head muscles, that is the best idea I have heard since discussing this issue and it has come up before. I remember argueing with some others about deity coordinates are not just. that we should be able to specify the order of everything in an update including deliver AND distribution so that a person can actually exploit the two better. right now NW is preferred over SE and that sucks. I will give the fb to god and see if he can confirm the deity coordinate thingy dingy Ringy. > Announcement from Ringworld, (#8) dated Sun Feb 1 10:23:32 2004 carolina by 6 > Announcement from Ringworld, (#8) dated Sun Feb 1 10:44:40 2004 stupid things to bet on: who wins the coin flip, who's "cheerleaders" are shown on tv first. which player touches the ball 'after the kickoff' first. which team passes the ball firs which team runs the ball first. which team punts first. > Announcement from DrJellyfinger, (#3) dated Sun Feb 1 11:30:33 2004 how about: first fumble first injury first player shown to scratch nuts on camera > Announcement from Ringworld, (#8) dated Sun Feb 1 14:25:17 2004 connectivity all of a sudden an issue. > Announcement from Puddles, (#7) dated Wed Feb 4 01:12:57 2004 Ringworld: You have one last chance to capitulate. DrJellyfinger and Shakespeare have taken half of the Ringworld sectors in 2 updates. The remaining contenders are ... and Thistle. Thistle is actively trading with DrJ and ... is trading with everyone. I guess nukes will not come into play in this game. Maybe the next game will be more interesting. > Announcement from unemployed, (#11) dated Thu Feb 5 18:48:57 2004 i actually think that for an 11-player game run over the holiday break (ie a casual-ish game for people with sudden free time) this game was pretty interesting. > Announcement from visitor, (#12) dated Tue Feb 10 09:23:10 2004 Frank, What you have done is a recipe for death, or losing the game, which is the same. Yes, you built defenses. However, they are useless. A capable defense means that you must control land, sea and air. Since you are smaller, you cannot control the air. Therefore, you cannot control the sea either to prevent subs from gaining intelligence. Very soon, since you cannot control the air, nukes and paratroops will start falling from the sky. Therefore, you will not control the land either. Units on reserve and artillery on interdiction cannot stop this attack. Therefore, since you have chosen only defense, you have chosen to lose. Learn from this. Next time, use a different diplomatic strategy and you might do better - no guarantees though. We all lose sometimes even with excellent diplomacy. I may be annoying, but their is a lesson to be learned here. Annoying and Helpful Visitor > Announcement from Frank, (#5) dated Tue Feb 10 13:00:49 2004 You're so missing the point, annoying visitor. > Announcement from Puddles, (#7) dated Tue Feb 10 15:46:30 2004 IMPR0TANTS BULLETIN TO ALL PLAYERS THE NATION OF PUDDLES WISHES TO DECLARE TOTAL VICTORY OVER ALL OTHER NATIONS AND LANDS STOP OUR IMPENETRABLE SECTORS WILL TOTALLY CO-RULE THIS ISLAND AND YOU CANNOT DO ANYTHING TO STOP US STOP ANY NATION WISHING TO CONTEND THIS DECLARATION OF VICTORY SHALL SUFFER A FATE WORSE THAN HAVING SEX WITH DR JELLYFINGERS SHEEP STOP PLEASE REPLY BY SNAIL MAIL IN ORDER TO POST YOUR REBUTTALS OR ARGUMENTS STOP IN THE MEANTIME I CHALLENGE ALL TO A DUEL TO THE DEATH USING RUBBER CHICKENS AND FEATHERDUSTERS AS ONLY WEAPONS STOP REPEAT PUDDLES TOTALLY CORULES THIS MAP AND NOW DECLARES TOTAL VICTORY! LOL. > Announcement from Frank, (#5) dated Thu Feb 12 05:44:13 2004 Does it really require BOTH the largest nations to harass me? Coudln't ONE of you just attack me so we could have a spirited contest? Or are you just looking for another lame white-washing? Oh - that's right. You folks call that DIPLOMACY> Lame. The rest of us just call you pathetic. > Announcement from Frank, (#5) dated Thu Feb 12 05:45:15 2004 Come on, ..., I'm sick of your lame rhetoric and wartless vibe. I also hereby *nullify* Puddle's claim due to the *fact* that myself and Shakespear occupy the Puddles continent, and the fact that Puddles is not represented in the power report as to having any power whatsoever. DrJellyfinger > Announcement from DrJellyfinger, (#3) dated Thu Feb 12 22:49:24 2004 I M P O R T A N T A N N O U N C E M E N T From the nations of DrJellyfinger and Shakespeare The nations of DrJellyfinger and Shakespeare hereby are declaring victory in this game, Havok 2. Any contesters please identify yourselves ASAP, so that we may lay the smack down uponst you in a timely fashion. Respectfully, DrJellyfinger and Shakespeare > Announcement from Thistle, (#10) dated Fri Feb 13 07:45:03 2004 To JellyFinger and Shakespeare No conest here. You have the power. Well done. Thistle > Announcement from Frank, (#5) dated Fri Feb 13 11:22:00 2004 Still haven't lost a sector yet... waiting... waiting... > Announcement from Frank, (#5) dated Fri Feb 13 11:25:41 2004 I accept the Puddles win declaration.... > Announcement from DrJellyfinger, (#3) dated Fri Feb 13 12:41:01 2004 That is very humorous, Frank, "haven't lost a sector yet..." perhaps your memory is fading. my records indicate that you have lost 5 of your islands in the past few weeks. > Announcement from Frank, (#5) dated Fri Feb 13 13:25:32 2004 You're even more humorous. Not enough balls on you to take an island that's defended (and worth defending)? Not enough backbone to try and do it yourself? You've gotten complacent... used to dealing with all those SHEEP. It's now clear why everyone says that your communication skills are on par with kindergartners. Mwuahahahahahaahahaha!!! > Announcement from Frank, (#5) dated Fri Feb 13 13:27:55 2004 By the by... many thanks to Bob for putting a game up for everyone to muck around with. Fun idea getting to craft our islands. > Announcement from DrJellyfinger, (#3) dated Fri Feb 13 13:37:48 2004 The nations of DrJellyfinger and Shakespeare are hereby temporarily withdrawing our win declaration due to the veto vote cast by Frank. We expect to have this issue resolved within the next 40 hours and will keep the world notified of our status when we have an update on our progress in the annihilation and silencing of Frank. Regards, DrJ and S > Announcement from Frank, (#5) dated Fri Feb 13 18:29:35 2004 Get over yourselves. This was a game with 10 players. Making formal proclamations like you're speaking to hundreds of nations (when, in reality, only you two and Thistle are still active) makes you look even more lame. Why don't you do something interesting like have a solo winner? > Announcement from Frank, (#5) dated Fri Feb 13 18:31:30 2004 And before your panties get scrunched even further up that tight little arse of yours, you'll note that I didn't cast a veto vote. (But I would appreciate it if you'd assault my island) > Announcement from Shakespeare, (#9) dated Fri Feb 13 20:24:57 2004 Frank: If there was to be a solo winner, it would very likely be Dr J. But most experienced players realize its foolish to go it alone, so they find someone to work with. But you -- you've been mouthy the entire game. You were heading to finish the game with your start island intact, but you just can't stop flapping your gums. > Announcement from Frank, (#5) dated Fri Feb 13 20:53:03 2004 Oh... thy wit and word doth bruise my feelings.... > Announcement from unemployed, (#11) dated Fri Feb 13 21:35:52 2004 unemployed doesn't contest the victory. but since im now bankrupt (woops!) i'm not sure i even have a vote. > Announcement from Puddles, (#7) dated Sat Feb 14 01:42:12 2004 The nation of Pudlles hereby declares the nation of JellyFinger a bunch of lame Gaylords A-Prancing. I think it's prety evident that I've completely Co-ruled this game, and if JellyFagger or SplotSplotPSplot want to take me on that's fine. I hereby VETO and REJECT any so-call win declarataion by JellassFinger. You Have Been Warmed! PUDDLES > Announcement from Frank, (#5) dated Sun Feb 15 01:30:56 2004 Losing your cap, unemp? You definitely have no vote. ;) > Announcement from DrJellyfinger, (#3) dated Sun Feb 15 07:20:31 2004 Dear Nations of the World, I am sorry to report, that there has been a slight delay in the extermination of Frank. He has spent the past 4 weeks super fortifying his home continent with tons of defensive stuff. I'll have to give him credit on this as pretty good defenses, it's going to take me 2 updates to zero him out instead of the only one update which I originally planned. He's got a marine/art/ aau in every sector (fully fortified too), along with flak. He's got internal lakes, the one I'm dealing with has 8 battleships and about 15 destroyers in it. We've carpet bombed all his sectors to minimal efficiency, and his airforce is not an issue. My plan for today is to continue the massive carpet bombings with 30 JHBs, then launch 50 harpoons at his capital ships, then roll in with 40 heavy units off of landing ships and just roll the island. DrJ > Announcement from Shakespeare, (#9) dated Sun Feb 15 22:10:54 2004 As the sun sets on Frank, and he runs out of BTUs, the chances are slim that his mouth will be silenced. Rest assured he will flap his gums yet again. Shakespeare and Dr J wish to re-new our victory declaration. We also wish to thank ... for supporting our economies during the entire course of the game. His final standing is well deserved. Shakespeare and Dr J > Announcement from Puddles, (#7) dated Mon Feb 16 00:16:28 2004 It is a known fact that Dr. Jelyfinger has a sheeeeeeeeep problem. Please tell everyone you know - the lamb you save may be your won! > Announcement from POGO, (#0) dated Mon Feb 16 13:09:33 2004 It looks like we have another victory declaration. If you would like to contest it, please annouce your intentions before the next update. Otherwise I will declare the game finished and these two the winners. Also, I am currently working on the final game report. I would like to include bmaps from all the start islands in it. I'd like to have a few words about your island designs and what worked/didn't work. If you no longer have access to your start island, please let me know and I can send you a copy of the bmap. Thanks, Bob Marchese PS: Only countries with NON-zero sector counts may take part in the victory voting. > Announcement from POGO, (#0) dated Tue Feb 17 07:11:22 2004 With none contesting the Dr Jellyfinger/Shakespeare victory declaration, I wish to announce that Havok II is now over and that they are the winners. Thanks very much to all that played. hope everone found the game interesting and exciting, but most of all had fun playing. Now everybody shake hands and get ready for the next one! Cheers, Bob Marchese > Announcement from POGO, (#0) dated Tue Feb 17 07:15:36 2004 I have now disabled updates, but I will leave the server up for a few days while I finish my final report to the Wolfpack. I'd really love to get your thoughts on your start island designs so please send me a tele or email to bmarches@erols.com Best Regards, Bob M
