The winners of this game were Partyland and Solvind
"Well, it's finally over. The winning coalition of Partyland/Solvind was declared after SlobManor (who was leading the game) had to bow out for Real Life(tm) reasons.
This game started back in September, and was interrupted by some do****bag hacker who decided to mangle the machine. The game went down for approx. 2 months, and when it came back up, most parties were still interested in playing, so the game officially re-opened on Jan 2nd.
It didn't take long for interest to wane (and I can't blame them) and what looked to be a great bang of an ending turned out to be a whimper. For a while it actually looked like there would be a 3 way fight amongst 3 700+ sector countries, with a few smaller ones thrown in for good measure. Didn't happen though...
The game originally started out as a start island game, with lots and lots of little islands interspersed around close enough to bridge to. The goal was to have it start out that way and then grow into a more continent based game as players started bridging to the whole world. What this meant was lots and lots of sectors for everyone.
This was also the first game run on the new Wolfpack server and flushed out many a bug (sometimes to the dismay of the players. :) )
I won't discuss the politics of the game, that is up to the players to do.
